Welcome to my Penthouse

Department: HOME

If you remember the movie Ferris Bueller you will remember that his side kick Cameron lived in a house that was more like a museum. This is what the "penthouse" collection from Target reminds me of.

If you ever want to pull off the icy look of a museum house you can with Targets new selection in their stores and on their site. I cannot do this as I love my child and don't want her walking into sharp objects but hey, it's up to you.

I like this piece, it speaks to me, it's pretentious and I love it.

I have a confession- I have been so busy that I have not been to Target in like 3 weeks. I can't wait to go see the new $1 spot!

  • The $1 spot is morphing into the 2 for $5.00 spot/ :(

  • Don't worry it is still 75% One Spot stuff. I love the peice that you have pictured. I just don't have a place to put something that large!

  • but there are still $1 items there. i got butch of workbooks for my kids for $1 each.

  • The $2.50 spot sucks. I got all excited when I was in their the other day, thinking "wow! I can get a whole package of magnetic alphabet letters for $1!" when I looked down and saw - with horror - the shelf tag declaring that it was, in fact, $2.50.

    Let's revolt!

  • I do agree that the $2.50 stuff sucks. The best way to tell the top dogs is to fill out those surveys that you get at the check-outs. I am an employee and I use them too! Maybe one day they will start carrrying tall sizes!

  • I went back to my Target and checked out the $1 - 2/$5 section to see if my first impression was wrong. But no - it's still pretty much dreary as hell. I do like the green and blue kitchen wares. And yes, wrenches are handy but I don't want them in the "Spot." Where are the fun magnets? The Napoleon D. stuff? The cute gardening supplies? The wacky lobster accessories?

All the fun has been sucked from the front of the Target and I don't like it! [Rant over] Good idea about voicing an opinion on those customer satisfaction surveys...

  • hmm, each Target must be different, because I got some cute magnets for $1

  • A new one opened up in an historical part of our city. It's so lovely and quiet and it smells wonderful. I'm signing in with my old Blogger identity, but you can find me at my new Typepad address:

  • I'm de-lurking to say, I LOVE this thing - whatever it is. It also speaks to me, everytime I am in my target I see it, but cannot justify a $60.00 thing, when I have a baby due any day now and will probably want to spend stupid amounts of money on her once she gets here.
