Love the $1 Spot? Well Get Ready To Have A RedCart Heartbreak

Department: who is your #1 source?

So seriously- don't give me crap about not posting much because when I do it's good and you know it. Such as- I just got an email from an insider (I wonder if T corp will tell their employees to stop giving me insider info anytime soon?) that the $1 spot will be Buh-Bye in August.

This sucks!!!!!!!!! I am told something better will be replacing it and my response to this dear, dear inside source of mine was NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It better be good.

  • Please tell me this is a joke? I'm having an anxiety attack right now. Can we start a petition?

  • LOL oddly enough one of the media stories I just interviewed for was soley about the $1 spot. I guess the reporter could take your response as a sign that WE LOVE US SOME $1 SPOT!!!

    I know right? GASP.

    viva la dollar spot

  • The only thing better would be a 50-cent spot. And I'm not talking about a rapper.

  • I work at Target. What I've been told is that they're keeping the 1 spot. 75% of the 1 spot will be $1. 25% will be 2/$5. Apparently there will be better quality items in the 2/$5 area.

    Hope that helps.

  • Must be b/c no one ever buys anything from it and it's so unpopular.

  • I am also a Target insider and you can rest assured that what Martina says is true!

  • So my insider tells me this about the $1 spot, and even though it seems there will still be a cheap spot in Target to get cool stuff, I am kind of confused. I guess we will just have to wait and see and believe me, I will give you my honest opinion about it in August

"The One Spot" is changing to "See. Spot. Save." It will keep the same
6 week format (and wonderful instant 50% off Clearence) but it will be
comprised of about 3/4 $1 items still...and 1/4 items that are
    "2/$5"...These items I have HIGH expectations for...although I haven't
    seen them yet.

  • What? Why get rid of the $1 spot?! It's a teacher's dream!

  • Say it ain't so! They have much better crap than actual dollar stores!

  • I went to a local Target this week, and all of their current $1 spot merch is 50% off. A mere 50 cents for the stuff they have now!

  • Never fear - See.Spot.Save is already here (at least at my Target)! It looks pretty much the same as the dollar spot, but the stuff 2 for $5 is a little better quality/more things are included in the package. Pshew!{collective sigh of relief...}

  • Phew! I got worried when I read this blog...but the comments have quelled my fears. I love the $1 spot, it's the first place to go...then electronics...
I'm really glad that there will also be the 2 for $5 section...of course i'll be checking out my store to see when it happens.

    Thanks!

  • My Target has re-vamped the one spot to include the 2/5 items. Very cool dorm room stuff so far.
