Rack 'em up
Department: Getting Organized
We (ok I) have a lot of shoes. This love is spreading down to the girls and they have just a few too many pairs each. Hey- everyone has to have a passion right? Miraculously my husband survives with 2 pairs of shoes. He may just be trying to make us all look silly.
I need a system but I am not finding anything that I like. I was looking at this because the other 2 white ones like it are SOLD OUT. Why Target.com- why even bother listing product that is sold out? Ridiculous. Does anyone have it? Chime in. thanks

From one shoe obsessed house to another, I looked at those cubes when I was putting my daughters room together and I ended up going with the open shelves instead.. I put a link to my post so that you can see. I have them for all of her "dress up shoes" (her shoe collection is out of control) I use big baskets in the playroom under their hooks for all of their "real" shoes.

That is infuriating. Have you checked the big Target down the Northway? I usually head there if something isn't available at one of the normal sized Targets. Lowe's and Home Depot also carry things like this!

I have those shoe storage units, still not enough for all my shoes. The only problem I have with it is that shoes with really high heels don't fit well, and boots don't fit.

I must be a total slut, because I have the 5 by 5 cube. That's right, it has 25 spaces and it's not the only shoe storage I have! I lay it on its' side, that way the cubbies are wider than they are tall and will easily hold a pair of all but the highest heels in each cubbie.

I have very similar ones that I got from Target (I think one has 4 rows of "boxes" and one has three rows and a drawer which I store tights and hose in) and I love them. Seriously, when we got new furniture when we moved, this was one of like 4 pieces we saved. Indispensible.
The only problem is that my beloved boots don't fit in them!

Okay...don't have any help about the shoe rack but I have help about how to fill them. This is why I love Target... I want to kiss the person who designed them and make out with the person that decided to only charge me $30! LOVE IT!

From someone who has 75+ pairs of shoes, those units take up too much space and hold too late. What I have that I love that stores up to 30 pairs of shoes is this: http://rakkudesigns.com/
Unfortunately, Target does not carry the shoe wheel. However, they have the shoe pods which hold up to 12 pairs, including larger pairs of mens shoes, if needed.
