What Are You Going As?

Spider Hero Adult Costume

It’s almost that time of the year again. The only time when it’s acceptable fashionably to dress as trashy or as silly as you like. Target.com is featuring a massive selection of costumes for infants, toddlers, and adults. There are costumes ranging from the classics to Disney to humorous to the historical figures.

I’m not sure if I’m wearing a costume given my burgeoning belly. But I did find this one. I’m sure it would be accommodating to my egg-shaped tummy.

Here are some other fabulous costumes I came across at Target.com. Visit Target.com to see more of their Halloween costume collection.

  • cannot believe someone would have an I love Target website. This company has a horrible human rights record. My husband worked for their distribution center for 5 years, and finally quit after being treated like so much disposable garbage.
    Cases in Point
    1. Every employee is required to see the company nurse before they can leave work for illness. However the company nurse only works Monday-Friday, with no weekends. There is no one that a person working the weekend shift can see to have an excused leave from work. I don't think it would scratch Target's profit margin to employ an additional nurse for the weekend shift.
    2. At the particular plant my husband worked at in Cedar Falls, Iowa there was a water main break. There was not running water for drinking or sanitation for more than 6 hours, yet Target forced its' employees to keep working in 90 degree weather. I was appalled this could even happen in the United States.
    3. They do not allow any kind of personal correspondence within their buildings or parking lot, for fear of organized labor unions(which they desperately need). This means if you want to give your co-worker Sally a sympathy card because her kid died, YOU CAN'T. Unless you want to be fired.
    4. At the retail stores, the starting wage for employees is $6.15. A person could not buy health insurance AND feed himself Top Ramen with this wage. But at least you can buy your plastic Isaac Mizrahi shoes for 10 cents cheaper.
And these are just minor incidences I can recall from my husband's experience with the "Bullseye".
So please, find another company to worship. Companies like this are bad for the American work force. And I realize most of you won't give a damn, because you and your husband both work white-collar jobs, but some don't. And you support a business that are treating your fellow Americans like trash.

  • I've been watching this site for some time and I love it! As for the anonymous blogger if all of your accusations are true then why don't you post a link that backs up all these accusations with proof. Maybe, you've mixed Target up with Wal-Mart.

  • I love this site! I love Target and can't leave the store without spending at least $50.00. I've tried and somehow I always end up with "stuff" I don't need.

As for Anonymous...I'm sorry that your husband had a bad account with Target. There are always situtions that arise that don't fit your needs. You could find fault with any company if you work there long enough. Paying people $6.15 an hour I don't think is unreasonable, minimum wage in my state is $5.15 an hour. Most of the people that work in my Target are part-time High school kids or moms getting out of the house for a few hours. There are worse websites out there. Go fight your fight somewhere else.

  • You know what. My husband and I went to college and worked our butts off and now have white collar jobs. Stop doing your little web searches to dump on people about a harmless site that lets them have fun. Also, I have family and friends that have worked to Target, and have had nothing but positive work experiences. So, get a hobby!

  • Oh my gosh people, it's a STORE! Go argue about something more important like the government who set that minimun wage you gripe about. I enjoy this site and read it everyday, it's a fun escape from my daily routine. I like the daily pictures of products Target features. I don't worship Tar-jay and sometimes I think they are overpriced but hey, they have some cool stuff.

  • I love that people rant and do it as "anonymous." How weak.

Oh wait. Let me be like you and change mine to "anonymous" too.

  • Just a comment! I have worked for Target for 10 years. LOVE IT. They are the nicest people to work for and with. I think I SHOULD PAY THEM to let me work there! It is my escape from a hectic life of kids, sports, craziness and my piece of HEAVEN. Great relationships and YES you can give each other cards, support, etc. contrary to other opinions... We are a fun family of team members. I only work parttime but it is totally lots of fun serving the public. Some people are not made for retail, BUT I AM!!!!!

  • Sorry anonymous 8:45, you are wrong. Target does not have a "company nurse", and never has. When you are sick, you are allowed off work. Period.
